Brookside Fire Sign Wins 2nd Place in International Competition!

It couldn't happen to a more deserving sign or customer. The firemen at Brookside were so supportive throughout the design for this beautiful custom carved sign. They listened to all of our recommendations and when the estimate for the full package was more than their original budget, they found the funds to cover the difference because they believed that this sign was worth making right with no corners cut. The custom carved sign is now a landmark of this quaint historic community. Thank you to all the firemen that had faith in our vision and the committment to follow through. Happy 100 to the Brookside Vounteer Engine Company #1!

Thanks to Signs of the Times Magazine, a world leader in Sign Education since 1906 for sponsoring this annualinternationally renowned competition!

In 2014 and 2015 two elementary schools in Bernards Township were awarded a National School of Excellence Blue Ribbon. To honor their achievment, we were asked to create a pair of carved signs to be displayed on the entrance to the Mt. Prospect and Liberty Corner Schools. Both handcrafted signs feature high relief carving and Modurn Masters Metallic paints to accentuate their every detail.

Another Really Fun Carved Sign

Every once in a while we get to go all out on a carved sign and this assignment was no disappointment. Our CNC router got us started, but the real work began with the hand tools. Each bean was individually hand carved out of the background. We undercut the folds of the ribbon and the underside of each bean to give this sign true three dimensionality rarely seen in signs today. Modern Masters Metallic Paints were used to give each element a warm sparkle.
