Handmade By Gary Takes Top Prize in the United States Sign Council’s International Competition

Handmade by Gary, a self promotional sign I produced for the showroom took the top prize in the United States Sign Council’s international sign design competition. Here I am accepting the award from Donna Wright, President of the USSC, at the annual USSC Sign Convention in Atlantic City on Saturday, Dec 3, 2011. I’m honored to win such a prestigious award and am very grateful to be so recognized by my peers in the sign business. A picture of the sign is also featured on one month the 2012 USSC Calendar.

Somerset VoTech to the Rescue!

4/14/12 - George Byrd had generously agreed to help us out with painting the arch for the Bierwirth Children's Garden. Mr. Byrd is the Autobody instructor at the Somerset County Vocational and Technical School in Bridgewater NJ. The arch will be painted black allowing the light green letter to pop. Thanks to Mr. Byrd and his students! Without the help from the Morris County and Somerset County Vo-Tech Schools we could not afford to build this great addition to thte Children's Garden. Check out your local Vo-Tech Schools! For more information on Somerset Vo-Tech, check out their website at www.scvths.org

A Grand Entrance Design

4/1/12 - We have decided to build a grand entrance to the Bierwith Children's Garden at the Clarence Dillon Library. The new arch will be made of welded steel.  The Morris County School of Technology has agreed to help us out with their CNC Plasma cutter.  This will help us keep within budget and give the kids some real world experience.  Thanks to instructor Herb Brown and all the students at MCTVS who lent a hand.
