We joined a local organization this year called ARTsee which is a group of local artists in Basking Ridge, Bernardsville & Far Hills, NJ that among other things offers Open Studio Tours of its members once a year and we have decided to join in. This year the event is being held Saturday and Sunday Oct 3&4 from 12-5pm. Come down and see where the magic is made and while you are here, take the tour and visit some of the amazing studios and works of the other very talented artists partisipating. We look forward to seeing you!
FDU Gets a Whole New Look!
For the past 8 months we have been working with Fairleigh Dickinson University to survey, design, fabricate and install a new updated way-finding system for both of their NJ campuses in Teaneck/Hackinsack and Florham Park. This past month has been especially intense to instal over 150 signs during the rainiest June in recent memory. Attached are examples of the new system which include a formal model featuring a custom water jet cut solid aluminum grille surrounding the university seal, a pedestrian model to help the students navigate their way across the many park-like paths across campus with building identification signs that compliment the directional signs. The project also involved Welcome signs, traffic and parking signs as well as Admissions directionals. It was a long term challenging project, but we have received many compliments from the University Administration and students alike.
Sailing Off to Nantucket
Some of our favorite jobs are the ones that we send off to far off exotic locations. Back Home
We're back in the office after 1 week in Minnesota learning the art of hand lettering from one of the greats, Mike Meyer. Learned a lot, laughed a lot and made some great new friends. Thanks for inviting us into your world Mike. I need a bit of practice but we will definately be adding hand painting to the growing list of services we can offer our customers. Hand painted letters has a long and proud tradition that had been in the background with the introduction of computers, but it is making a comeback. Computers as great as they may be can not replicate the beauty of a hand painted brushstroke and a freely drawn design. Attached is our first effort and glimse of betters things to come.
Hey Look, we're on TV!
Today Heide Wigdahl, a local news reporter for KARE 11 News, an NBC affiliate out of Minneapolis stopped by our workshop to capture the event and interview Mike and a few of the attendees including yours truelly.
