Today we installed this beautiful handcrafted carved sign in downtown Basking Ridge for Blue Cafe. The restaurant isn’t open yet, but the new owner was eager to get the sign up as soon as possible to get the townspeople excited about the opening due in early March. Blue is replacing the long standing Mockingbird Cafe, that closed in Sept 2018
Our Blue Ribbon Sign Inspires an Event
On February 7, our Blue Ribbon School Carved Sign was the center of a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Swampscott High School with the Massachusetts State Governor Charlie Baker, State Representative Lori Ehrlich, Commissioner of Education Jeffrey Riley, State Representative Brendan Crighton all in attendance to celebrate the installation of our dimensional sign and the great achievement of the high school’s faculty and students. We are very proud of the many compliments we received from all who attended. We are also thrilled that we were chosen to make this carved sign in Massachusetts, a state known for its quality carved craftsmanship.
Just in Time for Christmas
Just like Santa’s elves, we have been working furiously to finish up carving and painting this project in time for the Christmas services at Community Congregational Church in Short Hills, NJ. Like the other custom carved signs this one features raised prismatic letters and a custom decorative frame over a lightly textured background all carved out of durable PVC. This carved sign was particularly challenging because of how thin it needed to be in or to avoid casting dramatic shadows from the LED lights above.
